Aviation reimagined
Located 25 km north of Jeddah, King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA) is the Kingdom’s busiest and fastest-growing aviation hub. Appointed by Jeddah Airports Company (JEDCO), SJ Group is delivering Project Management Consultancy (PMC) services for over 100 capital projects, valued at SAR 3 billion. These upgrades will boost KAIA’s annual capacity from 29 million to 114 million passengers by 2030 – supporting Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and National Aviation Strategy, and enhancing the experience for both domestic travellers and millions of Hajj and Umrah pilgrims.

Planned infrastructure upgrades will increase airport's capacity fourfold
The programme is one of the most extensive and operationally sensitive airport transformations in the region. With terminals remaining active throughout, SJ Group has led governance, strategy and delivery without disrupting airport operations. The team worked in close partnership with JEDCO – formed under MATARAT in 2022 – to align every intervention with real-world operational needs.
The OneSJ model brought together multidisciplinary expertise from Singapore, Australia, Canada, and the Middle East – creating a globally informed but locally grounded delivery approach. Integrated teams deployed advanced programme controls, adaptive planning and commercial foresight to ensure infrastructure resilience, operational efficiency and future-ready growth. The transformation is not only physical but systemic – positioning KAIA as a benchmark for smart aviation infrastructure in the region.
“Our diverse team delivers practical solutions through close collaboration with JEDCO – ensuring each intervention is grounded in real-world priorities and geared for long-term success.”
