A landmark of technical ingenuity
Rising 319 metres above Melbourne’s arts precinct, Australia 108 includes over 1,050 apartments with premium resident amenities. Its defining feature – the golden “starburst” mid-tower levels – houses shared spaces that enhance wellness, accessibility, and community connection. These sculptural cantilevered forms extend liveable space beyond the façade, offering panoramic experiences while activating the tower’s visual identity.
Robert Bird Group (RBG) delivered implementation-ready construction engineering for Multiplex, designing temporary works, crane strategies and the bespoke cantilever platforms – engineered to extend over 8 metres from the building’s core. Their site-specific methodology ensured safe, efficient delivery within Melbourne’s tight urban fabric.
Australia 108 stands as a landmark of technical ingenuity and design excellence. Through digital tools, regional expertise and interdisciplinary collaboration, RBG supported a project that balances architectural ambition with real-world liveability and resilience – setting new standards for tall residential buildings in Australia and beyond.
