Ordos' new net-zero industrial park.
In collaboration with green technology pioneer Envision Group, SJ Group leads the development of the world’s first net-zero industrial park in Ordos, Inner Mongolia - an ambitious initiative aligned with China’s “Dual Carbon Goal" of peaking carbon emissions by 2030 and achieving neutrality by 2060.

Net-zero industrial park in the world
A zero carbon future
SJ Group and Envision developed a comprehensive strategy addressing energy, mobility, construction, production and ecological performance. Energy islands serve as cloud-based command centres for green energy distribution, while logistics infrastructure is optimised to reduce emissions and support hydrogen and alternative fuel adoption. Carbon-neutrality measures – including energy conservation, carbon sinks, sequestration and trading – are integrated through all planning layers to ensure the park meets both international standards and local realities.
Advanced systems for sewage heat recovery, solar heating and air-source heat pumps are piloted on site. A modular industrial ecosystem promotes resource recycling and facility sharing, while green carbon sink strategies – like vertical greening, water-sensitive landscapes and drought-tolerant planting – create a high-performance, low-impact environment. An international net-zero industrial park standard, developed by SJ and Envision, now serves as a benchmark for future developments across China and beyond.
